Are You Photogenic???
"I hate having my picture taken. I am not photogenic!" We have ALL said this at some point in our lives. Maybe you have always thought you were not photogenic.
The definition of photogenic is looking attractive in photographs or on film. If only approximately 2.0803% of the population have symmetrical faces, do you only think 2% of the people you know in your life actually take a good picture?? I highly doubt it. It is a mis-perception that only people with symmetrical faces can be photogenic. Well, I believe I have learned something over the last four and a half years of taking portraits. I personally believe the asymmetry is what makes each one of us special. Yes, you may have a "better" side or angle of your face in portraits, so what?! It doesn't mean you can't be photogenic...that you can't look attractive in a photo.
Also, you can look beautiful in photos at any age. Yes, our faces change over time, but that doesn't mean it is the end of your best images. We should embrace each station of our lives and capture ourselves in images throughout the journey. Of course, most everyone thinks they are never as beautiful as they are in their youth, but with age comes wisdom and a sense of self, we don't tend to have as children or young adults. That is beautiful in itself and can come through in photos. The general snapshot taken by a friend or family member at the annual 4th of July party on their smartphone, may not show you in the best light. We have all been there! Trust me! I sometimes gag at some of these pics of myself, however, in the hands of a professional, that goes out the window.
It's all about "Angles and Attitude". That is where a professional photographer comes in...We understand finding your "best side" and finding the angle that puts your best face forward. Also, attitude is a huge piece of the equation. If you believe it you can achieve it, right? If you can find your inner confidence, your inner beauty reflects towards your outer beauty. The best photos are of people who believe they are beautiful. Sometimes all you need is a little self-love to get you there. A professional photographer can give you the tools you need to bring your best self out into the open. The lights, makeup, wardrobe, and equipment, all work together to make you feel like you have stepped onto your own personal Hollywood photo shoot.
So...what are you waiting for? Now that you know you are photogenic, you shouldn't waste any time making your appointment to experience feeling like a diva! You need to finally see just how beautiful you are, and realize what everyone around you already knows...You are gorgeous, darling!!!
